Overnighting in a typical RV park — or even boondocking at a mall — is
usually a pretty safe undertaking, with plenty of lighting for
late-night excursions. Once you veer off the beaten path into more
primitive sites, however, even the simple act of taking your pet for its
evening walk becomes an adventure. In particular, negotiating your
motorhome’s entry steps can be surprisingly tricky at night; most coach
door lights are woefully incapable of illuminating the steps and, well,
our eyes just aren’t what they used to be.
The new RVSureStep offers a number of upgrades to the typical
steel step — not the least of which is a motion-activated lightbar
said to illuminate whenever approaching or exiting the motorhome. There
are no wires to install — the RVSureStep includes a long-life,
replaceable battery. Mounted on top of an existing step, the unit also
provides a durable, non-slip surface; installation is claimed to be
quick and easy, and without modification to the coach.
